Course recommended for RNs. LPNs are welcome; however, it is the individual’s nurse’s responsibility to understand the scope of practice in the state they are practicing in.
Define Central Venous Access Device (CVAD)
Identify Appropriate site selection/types of catheters
Define care and maintenance of vascular access devices
Provide education for CVAD insertions, and routine care procedures
Describe complications and interventions and prevention
Validate Infection prevention
Educate patients and caregivers on CVAD
